If morgenfell worked in the industry and people saw his posts on here he'd be black balled instantly.
And valve doesn't make comments about tech outside of saying that it's too difficult for them to justify the RnD time to make new tech on the PS3. They never said the PS3 wasn't powerful, they just said it wasn't worth the time when all they care about is making new experiences.
edit: and there's a reason Trek doesn't make cars. They are good at bikes. They are stick...
how is claiming a single console outright superior different from claiming the other two are inferior?
Are you retarded? have you ever programmed anything? have you ever even made something performance based?
What you said is the equivalent of saying "If it's so much easier to make a bike than a car, why do cars go faster?"
The PS3 is more complicated to develop for. It's architecture is more complicated. That's a fact.
And Ubisoft is somewhere in the range of 10 to 100 times larger than Valve. I'm sure they can dedicate a little more money to r...
Where are you getting this 4 million number?
Both companies released their numbers last month and it was still between 6-7 million.
He was talking about the features of the community software in that it's easier for people to hook up with their friends on the 360, and it is.
Disgusting? Really? Today is the day Valve set off a bottle rocket and destroyed hiroshima.
long answer: not at all.
You don't know who these pictures were made for though. If they're made for programmers, they don't really care how pretty it looks, only that it shows what the system can do.
The pictures aren't even especially ugly. Just not very realistic.
I'm sure the results are scalable some how. The point was to show the difference. If they made a road with a flat texture and a flat road with a bumped texture, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Even if one was technically much more impressive.
In terms of graphical power, not necessarily looks as the images are exaggerated to show the power, DX11 is much more impressive.
they didn't even announce that yet o.O
Resistance 3 only has a billboard seen, which was supposed to be in a film that won't even be out till 2011. o.O
Agent doesn't even have a release year let alone a release date yet either.
It happens a lot actually. You get a group of guys that would get split up, and when one gets stuck on the opposite team they just tell the other team where to go.
I never had a large issue with kids on live. worst case scenario, you leave the room and find another.
What I did have a problem with was being stuck on a silent team that couldn't hear me telling them any enemy locations or organizing any kind of strategy leaving me stuck in what may as well be a single player game.
The private chat and party chat are both dashboard features. They run outside the game on M$ things. All the developer should have to do is throw in a single global variable saying whether or not chat should be allowed.
matte black plastic -> shiny original PS3 plastic
Someone edited the wiki after the post? really?

it says 34 as of october 09.
YAAAAAAAAY AVATAR AWARDS!!!!
I'm glad they're finally getting some decent ones. That, I think, is the biggest selling point for avatars.
I want the ODST armor... wantit...
impressive numbers. I'm surprised M$ didn't drop the price again. They should at least chuck a 20gb hard drive in the arcade or something.
@Action Bastard:
I care because I own stock in all the major publishers in the industry (except sony and M$ because their gaming divisions are only a small part of their companies). Good sales for sony though. Should help with game sales for the holiday.
why would you have to buy the wireless N adapter? You can use a normal router (max $40) as an access point.
the industry isn't as conceited as you think. The people behind video games are more often than not gamers. Like said below, gamers game regardless of platform. To think that just because people work at M$ doesn't mean they can't appreciate a great game on another console is stupid.
edit: you've all seen his gamertag now. Everybody go send this tool some cheating feedback so he gets banned from xbl.
I don't think valve has made a game in the past decade that hasn't in some way pushed the gameplay envelope. Half life was a great game. Half life 2 did great things for episodic content, portal was exceptional, Team fortress had great class based multiplayer gameplay, counter strike is still one of the most popular games ever, Left 4 Dead was an amazing multiplayer experience.
Pushing more polygons isn't the only way to push the envelope.
